At Rocket Kitchen Cafe we aim to be a force for good . We operate a well established ‘pay with a post it’ scheme whereby our customers pay for food and drink in advance for those less fortunate than themselves.
Our notice board is full of prepaid items which those down on their luck can utilise no questions asked. Many ‘post its’ have words of love, encouragement and wisdom written on them too. It’s a heart centred way of making a difference.
Homeless people regularly engage with this customer generosity and from time to time Rocket also donates prepaid vouchers to Hereford Food Bank.
We have had lots of wonderful feedback from many in the community regarding our scheme, from those who have personal experience of receiving a take-away hot drink or a meal when in a time of crisis to an employee of a local housing shelter telling Bill that Rocket Cafe is one of the few places in Hereford a homeless person can go where they can receive a friendly non-judgmental welcome.
